How to Start a Successful Care Business Workshop Series

These workshops are  aimed at new care businesses and people looking to open a care business, but any care business is welcome to attend.


Delivered by Judith Timmins, from Compliance Coach , you will be guided through the pitfalls of setting up a new care business and learn about compliance, finance and marketing.


There are 3 modules to this training series and it is strongly recommended that you book on to all 3 to develop an understanding of how to 'Start a Successful Care Business'.

Minister for Care speech on social care at the ADASS Spring Seminar

On 25th April, the Minister for Social Care, Helen Whateley, addressed attendees at the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) spring seminar.


In her speech, she outlined her vision for care and focused on the challenges currently facing those working in social care.

New trial suggests switching to Decaf could prevent falls and save the NHS £85m per year

In a first-of-its-kind trial, care home residents were offered decaffeinated hot drinks in a bid to reduce falls experienced rushing to the toilet.



Conducted across eight residential care homes over six months, the simple switch  resulted in a 35% reduction in toileting-related falls . If scaled across the sector, the results would mean thousands of falls prevented and  NHS savings of up to £85m per year.

Carer's Week - 10th-14th June 2024

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support. This year it takes place from 10th-14th June 2024 The campaign is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to provide support for carers, run activities, highlight the vital role carers play in our communities and draw attention to just how important caring is. This year the theme is 'Putting Carers on the Map' highlighting the invaluable contributions of carers across the UK and ensuring their voices are heard loud and clear. Together it is hoped to increase the visibility of the carers among politicians, employers and throughout communities. And by raising awareness it is hoped that they will better recognise the challenges unpaid carers face and help them access the support they deserve. Who is a Carer? A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health condition, addiction, or who needs extra help as they grow older. It isn’t someone who volunteers or is employed to provide support.
