What We Do

In conjunction with care sector lawyers HCR Law, the Association runs a free legal helpline for members, with reduced rates for additional legal advice

WMCA has partnered with HR providers Citation Ltd to offer our members a FREE HR helpline and support service.

The Association meets regularly with Local Authorities, ICBs, WM ADASS and elected representatives.

We also represent the care community on various boards, steering groups and other committees. 

Through our membership of the Care Association Alliance, we form a network of over 9000 care providers that has a voice that is listened to by central government.

Our staff have a deep knowledge of the care industry and we are available during normal office hours to answer your questions. We send out regular newsletters and communications and update our website and facebook page daily with news that effects the industry.

This website has pages of advice on business and care issues which are accessible within the members only area.

We also have example policies, procedures and templates available

We post daily on social media and our news blog keeps you up to date on industry news

Members receive a weekly newsletter, making sure they stay abreast of new developments

The Association has an agreement with the Spectrum Consortium where all of our members can benefit from their buying power discounts from over 50 different suppliers. 

Not only do you receive discounted products and services, but every quarter you recieve a cash rebate on the goods you have brought.

The Association has set up a dedicated recruitment resource website  for members,  bringing together advice on recruitment in one place.

We run regular careers fairs for those looking for employment in care under our Proud to Care banner.  

WMCA members can exhibit free of charge at these careers fairs, connecting them with prospective employees

We also have aditionnal advice on recruiting from within the UK and internationally within the members area of this website

WMCA offers members discounts on advertising their job vacancies across a number of jobs boards, due to our partnership with Social Care People, including websites such as:

With our partnership with BA Healthcare, WMCA are able to offer our members discounted rates on recruiting staff from abroad, through BA Healthcare's programme.

We run several competitions each year designed for care providers to have some fun with their residents but always with a serious purpose behind it

As well as our events and conferences we also facilitate several networks across the area

WMCA DBS System allows employers to submit applications online and receive the results quickly electronically.

WMCA offers its members heavily discounted rates for DBS meaning our members benefit from some of the lowest DBS costs in the business

Our staff are here to help should you have any queries about your applications and they understand the care market (unlike some generic DBS providers)

The Association organises regular provider meetings in each of our local authority areas as well as conferences and workshops on different care topics. 

The Association has relationships with various training providers and we can signpost you to someone who can meet your needs, at a discounted price. We also run training courses on various subjects throughout the year.

The Association has signed up to be a registered 'Care Hub' for our members to be part of the IHSCM. This membership supports managers by helping them to meet these challenges and understand, develop, share and celebrate good practice.

The IHSCM is a place for social care and health managers/staff/students to learn, share, and create. It's a supportive environment that aims to provide you with the resources you need whilst also empowering you to share your knowledge with other members.

WMCA members are given a code so that your staff can sign up for free

WMCA is the Local Support Organisation for the national Better Security Better Care program, providing free support to CQC registered providers to complete the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), 

The Association is working with local ICSs in administering the Digital Transformation Fund (DISC)

There is funding available for the implementation of Digital Social Care Records (DSCR) software and Sensor Based Falls Prevention and Detection (SBFPD) technologies

Members can obtain substantial discounts from prime care sector suppliers. These include Citation, Quality Care Group, JLA, Fireco, and Aid Call. Preferential rates also apply for some legal banking and energy sourcing services

The Association has set up a dedicated website for those looking for care which includes a directory of our member care providers. 

The Care Association has been running it's Excellence in Care Awards for 6 years now.

They are here to acknowledge, celebrate and reward excellence in care delivery across the whole health and social care spectrum.
