West Midlands Care Association
The West Midlands Care Association is a membership organisation of over 500 Care Providers across the West Midlands, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
We provide services which are of specific use to Care Homes and Domiciliary Agencies. For example, Criminal Records checks, Training, Events, Project Delivery and Advocacy. We have a small staff of 12 working across the various aspects of the business.
The Role:
We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive individual to assist the Chief Executive and take command of our social media, marketing and events activities.
Many of the duties will be specific to the job, however, there will be a certain amount of job sharing as we are a small company and we work together as a team.
Hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm but we can look at some flexibility. The role will predominantly be based at our office in Halesowen.
We operate a flexible working policy, normally dividing our time between our office and home working. We offer 25 days holiday entitlement (plus bank holidays) and contribution to a company pension scheme
Key Duties
To organise and promote Meetings and Conferences for our members
- Contacting Venues, booking rooms and sorting prices
- Setting up virtual meetings and webinars
- Contacting and liaising with speakers
- Promoting the events through our website and eflyers
- Set up the online booking systems and website links
- Running/Chairing/Presenting the event on the day
- Set up any AV equipment needed
To produce Newsletters and Social Media Posts
- Produce weekly newsletters
- Design and post to social media channels
Develop a knowledge of the Care Industry
- To understand what is happening Nationally and Locally
Looking after our Websites
- Ensuring the website is updated regularly
- Develop new pages as necessary
To keep the databases up to date
- Update and maintain our CRM system.
Management day to day relationships with corporate sponsors
- Maintain regular conatct with our sponosrs to ensure their needs and objectivesd are maintained
- Research and recruit new sponsors
Deputise for the CEO
- Represent the Association in the CEOs absence
- Assist the CEO in their duties
Additional duties as required:
- As a small team it is important that we all work together. This will involve supporting the other team members with administration and answering phone calls
- Represent the Association and our members at Stakeholder Meetings with Local Authorities and the Health Service
- Assist with project delivery where necessary
Other Requirements
A Driving Licence and use of a car will be needed for this position
- The role will involve occaissional travel around the West Midlands including Herefordshire and Worcestershire
Personal Specification:
- Knowledge of Marketing
- The ideal candidate would be confident and motivated being able to communicate with members, the public, local Authorities and the Health Service at all levels
- Experience of organising and running Meetings/Conference or Training
- Confident in the use of Social Media in a corporate setting
- Previous experience in a membership organisation or trade body would be an advantage though not essential
- Excellent IT skills will be required in a variety of packages.
- Knowledge of the Care Industry would be an advantage.
- The job will involve dealing with sensitive personal data and is therefore subject to a clear DBS check.
