AI-driven care: Why Ally is the talk of the media

Over the past month, Ally has been in the media spotlight, featured in prominent outlets such as the BBC, The Times, and The Sunday Times magazine. These accolades highlight the growing recognition of our Resident Monitoring System and its transformative impact on care homes across the UK.

Their evidence-based AI technology is designed to improve resident safety, enhance team efficiency, and deliver better outcomes for care providers. From reducing falls to improving residents’ sleep and alleviating pressure on carers, Ally is helping care homes deliver more responsive, compassionate care.

Bringing innovation to night-time care

A key focus of recent media coverage is Ally’s role in a government-funded initiative in Dorset. This project is aimed at enhancing night-time care through the use of AI-powered acoustic and motion monitoring systems. By identifying subtle signs of distress, discomfort, or inactivity, their technology ensures carers can intervene promptly, preventing incidents and improving overall care quality.

“Our goal is to empower care homes with the tools they need to create safer, more efficient environments for residents and carers alike,” explains Thomas Tredinnick, CEO and Co-Founder of Ally Cares. “The media attention reinforces the importance of what we’re doing—leveraging cutting-edge technology to address real challenges faced by the care sector.”

Why the media is paying attention

The care sector is under increasing pressure to provide high-quality, person-centred care while managing limited resources. Ally’s Resident Monitoring System is making a tangible difference by:

  • Improving resident safety: Proactively identifying falls and other incidents to ensure faster interventions.
  • Enhancing carer efficiency: Reducing routine disturbances, giving carers more time to focus on personalised care.
  • Driving better outcomes: Supporting residents’ independence and dignity while reducing hospital admissions.

The media spotlight reflects the growing recognition of Ally’s potential to help care providers meet these challenges.

Transforming the future of care

Ally’s success lies in their ability to deliver an evidence-based solution that meet the real-world needs of care homes. The recent media coverage has amplified their mission, and they remain committed to partnering with care providers to shape the future of resident care.

Published July 2025 (data correct as at 2024/25) Skills for Care have launched their annual report on the size and structure of ythe care workforce This provides the most up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the size and structure of the adult social care sector and workforce in England. A short, written report is available: download a copy of the report here. The methodology for this year’s report has changed from previous years. Adult social care related roles employed by the NHS are no longer included in the headline statistics for the size of the adult social care workforce. This change has been applied retrospectively to previous years, so the trends in this report are consistent. Comparing figures from this report to previous reports will not produce a valid trend. Also, our estimates for the number of filled posts in the independent sector now come from our automated data pipeline. This has resulted in substantial improvements to our estimates over time and some figures have changed as a result from previous versions of this report. For further information, see our statement. To download the data behind the visualisation below, including trended information, please see the Workforce estimates page.
