Join IHSCM Director of Social Care, Sue Jones for this comprehensive training programme aimed at current & aspiring managers & leaders. This programme aims to enhance leadership skills through a structured set of 6 interactive online workshops.

 

Programme Overview

This training programme needs only 1 registration and comprises six 1-hour online modules, each building on the previous one. These sessions will be held weekly during September & October at 2 pm on the following dates:

  • 10th September
  • 17th September
  • 24th Sptember
  • 1st October
  • 8th OCtober
  • 15th October

What compassionate leadership is and why it matters

Do you want to understand what compassionate leadership is and how it can help you as a leader? This session will cover:

1)The history of compassion through the ages,

2) Failures when compassion is absent from leadership

3) Why compassionate leadership matters,

4) The language of compassionate leaders,

5) The 4 elements of Michael West’s Compassionate Leadership Framework

 

Why compassionate leadership works

There is overwhelming evidence to support Compassionate Leadership. In this session we will cover:

1) The outcomes of compassionate leadership,

2) The language of compassion in practice,

3) Why compassionate leadership matters,

4) What does compassionate leadership look, feel & sound like,

5) The barriers to compassion, 6) The cost of compassion

 

How to create psychologically safe teams

Enabling teams to feel psychologically safe can be a challenge. People need to feel safe to speak out. This session will cover:

1)Creating a compassionate team using Michael West’s 4 pillars,

2) Understanding compassionate outcomes to measure,

3) Culture Assessment Tool exercise,

4) The needs of a team to feel safe,

5) Creating your compassionate processes

 

How to lead inclusive & compassionate teams

Having equality, diversity & inclusion at the centre of a team is essential to be truly compassionate. Join us as we cover:

1) The value of inclusion,

2) The importance of ally ship,

3) The roles, responsibilities & language of individuals, teams, leaders and organisations,

4) Creating a culture of inclusion

 

How to lead compassionately across boundaries

This session challenges the view of existing hierarchical structures and will cover:

1) How to create the conditions of collective leadership between teams, across boundaries and communities.

2) How to create consistent leadership language across teams, boundaries & communities,

3) Practice sessions.

 

How to lead compassionate change

Part of being a leader often means managing change. Join us as we cover:

1) We start with you and how you react to change,

2) Self-compassion using the 4 elements of Compassionate Leadership,

3) Introduction to R.A.I.N,

4) Steps to creating powerful coalitions through change,

5) Managing barriers and helpful tips to successfully lead you and your team through change

Certification

To receive a CPD certificate, participants must complete all six modules in sequence as each module builds on the previous one. Attendance in the correct order is essential to ensure comprehensive understanding and skill development.
