WMCA Members Online half-day Safeguarding Adults Awareness course

This course is FULLY FUNDED through the West Midlands Care Association


This course is only available to Members of West Midlands Care Association.


Who is the course aimed at?

All staff and volunteers working in social care, health, housing, charities and other areas of the independent sector based in the Local Authority areas covered by WMCA

By the end of the course you will be able to: 



  • Define who might be an adult with care and support needs
  • Identify relevant Legislation, Guidance and Policy & Principles 
  • State the 10 categories of abuse & identify examples and indicators. 
  • Explain your responsibility to prevent abuse and neglect 
  • Describe how you would respond if you became aware of abuse 
  • Outline how you would raise a Safeguarding Concern with the Local Authority 
  • State your role in relation to whistleblowing 
  • Identify other public protection reporting processes
