You may have seen an announcement earlier this week announcing an additional £200m of funding to help NHS services this winter.

Alongside that, an additional £40m was also announced that Local Authorities in the most challenged health systems can bid for to enable social care capacity, with hospital discharge in mind. This isn't actually a new announcement - it was originally announced in July as part of the £600m Market Sustainability and Improvement Funding. However, the £40m figure represents an increase from £30m in the original announcement.
