Ally Cares and West Midlands Care Association Announce Exciting New Partnership

We are thrilled to announce a new and dynamic partnership between Ally Cares and the West Midlands Care Association (WMCA). This collaboration aims to bring cutting-edge technology to care homes in the West Midlands, enhancing resident safety, independence, and overall well-being.

About Ally Cares

Ally Cares is the UK's leading provider of evidence-based AI Resident Monitoring Systems, dedicated to transforming the lives of care home residents. Their mission is to revolutionise care home operations by providing advanced technology that ensures better, more dignified care. Their innovative solutions are designed to enhance the quality of care, reduce risks, and promote the independence and privacy of residents.

What does the Ally system do?

The Ally Cares AI Resident Monitoring System is an advanced solution that captures sound and motion within resident rooms. This system is designed to alert care staff to potential issues such as falls, calls for help, and other emergencies, ensuring a swift response. By monitoring sound and movement, Ally Cares can detect early signs of infections or distress, reducing the need for hospital stays and allowing residents to receive prompt care.

Key features of the Ally system include:

  • Sound and motion detection: Captures and analyses sound and movement in real-time, alerting staff to potential issues.
  • Falls Prevention: Alerts staff to potential falls, enabling them to respond quickly and prevent injuries.
  • Early infection detection: Identifies early signs of infections, allowing for timely intervention and reducing hospital admissions.
  • Enhanced sleep and privacy: Minimises the need for night-time checks, promoting uninterrupted sleep and respecting residents' privacy.
  • Integration with digital care records: Seamlessly integrates with existing care record systems, providing comprehensive insights and personalised care plans.

Benefits of the Ally system

The Ally system offers numerous benefits for both residents and care home staff:

  • Improved resident safety: By monitoring sound and motion, the system helps to prevent falls and respond to emergencies swiftly.
  • Enhanced independence: Residents can maintain their privacy and independence, knowing that help is readily available if needed.
  • Better health outcomes: Early detection of infections and other health issues leads to timely interventions and better health outcomes.
  • Reduced hospital stays: With prompt responses and early detection, the need for hospital admissions is significantly reduced.
  • Peace of mind for families: Families can rest assured that their loved ones are being monitored and cared for effectively.

Published July 2025 (data correct as at 2024/25) Skills for Care have launched their annual report on the size and structure of ythe care workforce This provides the most up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the size and structure of the adult social care sector and workforce in England. A short, written report is available: download a copy of the report here. The methodology for this year’s report has changed from previous years. Adult social care related roles employed by the NHS are no longer included in the headline statistics for the size of the adult social care workforce. This change has been applied retrospectively to previous years, so the trends in this report are consistent. Comparing figures from this report to previous reports will not produce a valid trend. Also, our estimates for the number of filled posts in the independent sector now come from our automated data pipeline. This has resulted in substantial improvements to our estimates over time and some figures have changed as a result from previous versions of this report. For further information, see our statement. To download the data behind the visualisation below, including trended information, please see the Workforce estimates page.
