Earlier this week the government published its call for evidence on its major conditions strategy, alongside the outcomes of a number of previous consultations which will feed into it:
- DHSC Press Release
- Call for Evidence document
- Outcomes of mental health and wellbeing plan call for evidence
- Outcomes of 10-year cancer plan call for evidence
- A stakeholder toolkit (Button below)
The call for evidence is open until 27th June and is seeking views on how best to prevent, early diagnose, treat and manage 6 major groups of conditions which drive ill health and contribute to the burden of disease in the population in England:
- cancers
- cardiovascular disease, including strike and diabetes
- chronic respiratory diseases
- dementia
- mental ill health
- musculoskeletal disorders
DHSC is planning on encompassing the outcomes of the mental health and cancer plan calls for evidence into this work. Likewise the 'health disparities white paper' has been scrapped in favour of this strategy.
