***WMCA Updates***

WMCA has experienced care workers looking for roles now!

WMCA recently heard the terrible news that Oaks Court Residential Care Home in Wolverhampton was closing and their staff were being made redundant.

With this in mind, WMCA supported Wolves at Work to discuss new opportunities for the staff in an open day type event at the home.

There are up to 25 experienced care staff looking for vacancies currenlty.

Do you have any vacancies that need to be filled?

If you wish to find out more about how you can support them back into work, please contact enquiries@wmca.care with any vacancies you may have available for them.

WMCA attends Black Country Recruitment into Social Care event

WMCA attended Skills for Care and Black Country ICB's event on 1 December to support providers in planning a recruitment and retention plan for their business.

The turnout was fantastic and the day saw presentations from Skills for Care, Black Country ICB and West Midlands Combined Authority.

The attendees were also encouraged to participate in group activities, where they were able to learn and develop new ideas with their colleagues around recruitment and retention methods.

Energy tender for providers

Care England are working with Box Power to attempt  a sector wide tender for gas and electricity. We believe that by combining our buying power, Box Power (a registered charity which gives its profits to good causes) can achieve better arrangements for care providers for 2023. This will also be sent to local authorities directly to cascade.

Care England's action to establish the largest Gas and Electricity Tender for Care Providers - Care England

This is an expression of interest process only and once expressions have been made, Box power will write to all parties directly to determine which tender they can benefit from, one of which will be commission free guidance toward the best market deal open to them.
