As you may be aware, the DHSC currently have a public consultation open on visiting in health and care settings, which will be open until 16 August (and 23 August for the easy read). The links to these are below:
Full consultation: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/visiting-in-care-homes-hospitals-and-hospices
Easy read: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/visiting-in-care-homes-hospitals-and-hospices-easy-read
They are really keen to hear the views of care home residents as part of this consultation – having looked at the figures the number of individuals who are care home residents is currently quite low. The DHSC would be really grateful if there is anything you can do to promote this consultation to care home residents, or to encourage care workers or the family and friends of residents to support them to respond to the consultation.
Click here for a list of suggested prompts which can be used in conversation with those who may find it challenging to access either the full or easy read consultations. Any responses to these can be sent to visting@dhsc.gov.uk.
