Smarter Social Care:

AI in Action

4 February 2026

11.00am  - 12.45pm

Online

This webinar will introduce care providers to the safe, practical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in adult social care.

In partnership with East Midlands ADASS and Digital Care Hub this session will help attendees understand what AI is, address common myths, and explore how it can support quality, efficiency and outcomes in care services.

Speakers from Derby City Council, the Digital Care Hub and Skills for Care will cover:

  • Understanding AI: Simple explanations, what AI can and cannot do, and reassurance around ethics, safety and regulation.
  • Staying Safe: GDPR, consent, data protection, choosing trustworthy tools, and what CQC expects from providers using AI.
  • Real-World Applications: Practical examples such as predictive analytics, smart speakers, AI rostering, pain detection, transcription tools and acoustic monitoring. Several providers will share case studies about how they introduced AI and overcame challenges.
  • Digital Skills: How to assess digital capability within your organisation and support workforce development.

The session will end with a Q&A panel where participants can ask questions, share experiences, and access further support.

This webinar aims to give care providers confidence, clarity and practical starting points for exploring AI in a safe and person-centred way.
