Earlier today, the Secretary of State, Steve Barclay, outlined measures to give people more choice over their healthcare as a way of helping manage waiting lists. You can read a press release here: www.gov.uk/government/news/more-choice-to-help-cut-hospital-waiting-times
The NHS App is at the centre of this announcement. The app and the website will now offer patients choice when clinically appropriate about the services they can access. After speaking with their GP, people will be able to view information about waiting times, distance to travel and quality to help them make their choice.
