Black Country Healthcare have linked up with the Wolves Foundation to offer a Head 4 Health taster workshop to all staff working in health and social care across the Black Country area. The Wolves Foundation is the official charity of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and delivers a number of initiatives within the community across 3 pillars of healthier and more active people, safer and stronger communities and lifelong learning and skills. The Health & Wellbeing team deliver a number of initiatives in the city aimed at improving mental and physical wellbeing. One of these projects is Head 4 Health, an adult mental wellbeing programme.

The Head 4 Health taster workshop will include a small group face to face workshop which will include time to talk in a safe space and cover stress awareness including causes of stress and potential useful coping strategies that can help. There will also be time to engage in some light physical activity for those that wish. The session will last for 2 hours with around 30 minutes included for the physical activity element which will focus on chair based exercise or boxercise. The session will be held at Molineux Stadium and aims to offer an introduction to the Head 4 Health programme in addition to sharing useful coping strategies that individuals can take away with them. There is a choice of 2 dates that staff can choose from. Please view the attached poster for dates and booking/contact details.

We understand the Wolves Foundation are happy to plan further sessions and work with any organisations that feel they would have interest in some of the sessions they can offer, Rachel Smith - rachelsmith@wolves.co.uk – from the Wolves Foundation will be able to discuss further.

Published July 2025 (data correct as at 2024/25) Skills for Care have launched their annual report on the size and structure of ythe care workforce This provides the most up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the size and structure of the adult social care sector and workforce in England. A short, written report is available: download a copy of the report here. The methodology for this year’s report has changed from previous years. Adult social care related roles employed by the NHS are no longer included in the headline statistics for the size of the adult social care workforce. This change has been applied retrospectively to previous years, so the trends in this report are consistent. Comparing figures from this report to previous reports will not produce a valid trend. Also, our estimates for the number of filled posts in the independent sector now come from our automated data pipeline. This has resulted in substantial improvements to our estimates over time and some figures have changed as a result from previous versions of this report. For further information, see our statement. To download the data behind the visualisation below, including trended information, please see the Workforce estimates page.
