T150 Energy 'Payback Scheme' for WMCA members!

Matt Small from T150 Energy, launching the partnership with Jamie Bloomfield, Operations Manager at WMCA.

T150 Energy have a ‘Payback Scheme’, which is a great idea that companies can take advantage of!

T150 Energy’s ‘Payback Scheme’ is a charitable initiative designed to give back to the care, education, and charity sectors by helping organisations secure energy contracts. The key concept behind the scheme is to donate a portion of the commission earned from these contracts back to the organisations themselves.

Here’s how it works:

  • The Payback Scheme brokers energy contracts (gas, electricity, and water) for organisations within the Carem Education and Charity sectors.
  • When these organisations secure new energy contracts through the scheme, part of the commission earned from the energy supplier is donated back to them.
  • This model not only helps organisations save money on their energy costs, but also contributes funds back into sectors that support communities, such as care homes, schools, and charities.

The Payback Scheme was inspired by the T150 Energy’s Managing Directors, Matt Smiths, personal experience of overcoming a serious illness in November 2020 and the support he received from the NHS and various charitable organisations.

As a way of giving back, Matt created the Payback Scheme, which is part of a wider initiative known as the ‘Million Pound Mission,’ aiming to reinvest £1 million into these sectors over time.

It’s a win-win for organisations, as they can reduce their utility costs while also supporting their communities through the donations made.

Published July 2025 (data correct as at 2024/25) Skills for Care have launched their annual report on the size and structure of ythe care workforce This provides the most up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the size and structure of the adult social care sector and workforce in England. A short, written report is available: download a copy of the report here. The methodology for this year’s report has changed from previous years. Adult social care related roles employed by the NHS are no longer included in the headline statistics for the size of the adult social care workforce. This change has been applied retrospectively to previous years, so the trends in this report are consistent. Comparing figures from this report to previous reports will not produce a valid trend. Also, our estimates for the number of filled posts in the independent sector now come from our automated data pipeline. This has resulted in substantial improvements to our estimates over time and some figures have changed as a result from previous versions of this report. For further information, see our statement. To download the data behind the visualisation below, including trended information, please see the Workforce estimates page.
