National Survey of Adult Social Care Workforce

The Government has launched the first major national survey of all care workers in all care roles in adult social care in England.

The national survey of care workers, conducted by Skills for Care, Ipsos and the University of Kent on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care, is gathering information about working conditions, organisational characteristics, and workplace culture, to understand how work-related quality of life and wellbeing is affected.

Click here to find out more and complete the survey.

Improving Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in a Care Home Setting

Promoting, managing and regularly encouraging equality and diversity in your care home is key to making sure your business thrives. Whether you employ hundreds of people or you only have a small team, you’ve got to make sure all your employees are treated fairly.

You’re already spinning a lot of plates when it comes to HR & Employment Law, so the Citation experts are here to help you get to grips with some of the initial Equality & Diversity considerations you need to make as an employer.

WMCA Partner Feature: Person Centred Software (PCS)

PCS provide a suite of integrated solutions covering the full ecosystem of care management within social care.

Within their Connected Care Platform, care providers can use one solution on its own or multiple that connect, all through a single device. Each area focuses on a particular part of care and, when used together, provides a complete solution to improve resident outcomes, the lives of care workers, the delivery of person-centre care and the overall efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of a care setting.

Click here to find out how Person Centred Software can help you manage all aspects of your care services.

Published July 2025 (data correct as at 2024/25) Skills for Care have launched their annual report on the size and structure of ythe care workforce This provides the most up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the size and structure of the adult social care sector and workforce in England. A short, written report is available: download a copy of the report here. The methodology for this year’s report has changed from previous years. Adult social care related roles employed by the NHS are no longer included in the headline statistics for the size of the adult social care workforce. This change has been applied retrospectively to previous years, so the trends in this report are consistent. Comparing figures from this report to previous reports will not produce a valid trend. Also, our estimates for the number of filled posts in the independent sector now come from our automated data pipeline. This has resulted in substantial improvements to our estimates over time and some figures have changed as a result from previous versions of this report. For further information, see our statement. To download the data behind the visualisation below, including trended information, please see the Workforce estimates page.
