🏆 Our CEO Wins Regional Peer Award 🎉

We’re delighted to announce that our CEO, Keiron Broadbent, has been recognised at the first West Midlands ADASS Peer Awards for his work in "su pporting the international recruitment programme and displaced individuals" . The awards were presented at the Improvement for All – Stronger Together regional event at the University of Birmingham Exchange on 22nd April, which brought together colleagues, partners and people with lived experience to celebrate progress and strengthen collaboration across the West Midlands.

Empowering Residents with Android Accessibility Tools

Android devices include helpful built‑in accessibility features that support residents with sight, hearing, or mobility needs.

Key tools include:

• Select to Speak – reads text aloud from the screen.

• High‑Contrast Display – improves readability.

• Voice Access – lets residents control the device using voice commands.

• Lookout – describes surroundings using the camera.

• Audio Descriptions – adds spoken descriptions to TV and video content.

• Switch Access – supports residents with limited mobility.

These features work across Android phones, tablets, and TVs, helping residents stay connected and independent.

Encourage staff and residents to explore these tools in the device’s Accessibility settings. More guidance is available at Google’s Accessibility Guide and wmca.care/digital.
