New In-House Training Courses from WMCA

Launching January 2026

WMCA is excited to announce that from January 2026, we will be launching a range of  in-house training courses designed specifically for our members.

These sessions are built around the Care Certificate and aim to ensure that both new and existing staff are fully equipped to deliver high-quality care.

Delivered by our experienced in-house team—each with a strong background in care sector training—these courses run regularly and cover essential skills and standards for frontline care roles.

Members benefit from reduced rates, making it easier than ever to invest in your team’s development.

Calling all Registered Managers

Would you like to share your experiences to help others?

Every year we hold two registered manager's conferences and one of the most popular elements is the  Manager's Q&A session  .

We are busy finalising the agenda for our conference on the   22nd January , and we are looking for managers from both residential and dom care to participate as part of the panel.

The theme of the conference is '   Is your Care Service Well Led?   ' so we are really keen to hear from managers who are happy to share their experiences. If that's you, please email   enquiries@wmca.care   by 7th November if you  wish to take part.

Meet WMCA’s New Marketing & Events Manager!

We’re thrilled to welcome Matthew Ripley to the team—a seasoned manager with experience across both public and private sectors.

With a background in optics and previous roles at Circle Health Group and the digital team at H&W ICB, Matt is known for turning complex problems into clear, impactful results.

A self-proclaimed professional overthinker and part-time ukulele villain, he’s now conquering the world one spreadsheet (and sandwich) at a time.

Christie & Co Care Market Review 2025

Christie & Co's Care Home Review 2025 offers fresh insight into the healthcare transactional market, set against a backdrop of stabilising economic conditions and shifting political dynamics.

Over the past year, many care home operators have reported higher occupancy levels and a decline in agency staffing costs. Christie & Co's accompanying sentiment survey explores broader market perspectives, helping to shape a clearer picture of the sector’s direction in 2025.

What support do you need to buy tech with confidence?

https://stratus.campaign-image.eu/images/32883000022408004_zc_v1_1752513858450_wme___wm_social_care_international_recruitment_logo.jpg

We often hear from care providers that it can be difficult to feel confident when choosing technology- from care management systems and sensor technology to finance and HR software.

We know that when time and money are limited, it’s really important to make the best choices. That’s why we want to hear from you. We’ve created a short survey to understand what kind of support would help you feel more confident when choosing technology.

We’d like to know:

  • What challenges do you face when buying tech?

  • What information or tools would help you make more informed decisions?
