Request for Anonymised Case Studies on Stroke Emergency Response and post Stroke Rehabilitation

Lynne Bowers, from WM ADASS has been speaking with NHS colleagues about stroke pathways, including the need to blue light new strokes from care homes.

Lynne has challenged the team to ensure that NHS/WMAS responses to colleagues are optimised to minimise any delay to clinical intervention.

We are asking members if they can share with us via enquiries@wmca.care the following information please:

Anonymised case studies on successful rehabilitation of post-stroke residents?

Case studies of unsuccessful conversations with ambulance services when a care home suspects a stroke has occurred?

Dementia Action Week - 19-25 May 2025 Dementia Action Week is an awareness raising campaign. Each year, Alzheimer's Society works with individuals and organisations across the UK to encourage people to act on dementia. This year they are focusing on diagnosis and highlighting to audiences the most common symptoms of dementia. Diagnosis is vital to give people access to the care, treatment and support they desperately need. Yet, incredibly, 1 in 3 people with dementia do not have a diagnosis. If you're worried about yourself, or someone close to you, get help describing your symptoms to a GP by filling in the Alzheimer's Society symptoms checklist . Help the Alzheimer's Society to spread the word Download Dementia Action Week resources including posters, flyers and banners to help spread the word about making dementia diagnosis a priority. Find out more about Dementia Action Week including how you can get involved and get support for yourself or a loved one on the Alzheimer's Society website .
